Yeah that is a good Catch 22.
Athletes get banned from an amateur sport (i.e the Olympics) and original music is also an amateur "profession" too, for a lifetime for many.

The youth of today dont know how lucky they are. We never had access to "performance enhancing" drugs. In fact most of what were available were downright " performance debilitating".

I am listening to Talksport on the interweb and the way Dwayne Chambers has been treated is appalling. I don't want to go into the rights and wrongs of performance enhancing drugs but seeing that it is Friday, could we ban Amy Winehouse for taking "performance enhancing" drugs therefore having a flash of brilliance unavailable to us decent non drug taking artists ? How about stripping her off her awards and reclaiming all profits ? Or how about banning her from making another album and depriving her of an ability to make money, only to live the rest of her life on the dole ?
Can the Jon Gaunt's of this world see the irony in my post ?
