I recall the BBC bringing us a main news story about a man being released on appeal after a wrongful conviction of child abuse. They told us that this was no doubt just the tip of the iceburg and that more similar cases could follow. It seemed to tie in with finding of the Parliamentary Sub Committee. However, the following day the entire subject was dropped and I've not heard it mentioned in the mainstream media again.
It is a 'good story' that innocent people are jailed by a broken or corrupt legal system. It's a massive story. But I think that people 'upstairs' decide to censor such stories because they embarrass the establishment and make the authorities seem incompetent.
