..and the Bank Holiday food post... - 2006/05/28 12:16 Paprika lamb, green lentils with cabbage and shallot dressing.
Last nights meal was the worst I have ever had.
An "All you can eat chinese menu £10.99"
Seems a bargain, I hear you say, and so in we went.
We were told by a grumpy waitress, to read the "terms and conditions"(!), before ordering and food.
The terms implied that, if you left any food you paid full price. That seemed , a tad reasonable, but we are not very large eaters, so this can be problamatic..however...the first two chicken starters were totally inedible. A dreadful deep-fried chilli chicken dish , that was so over cooked as to be un-chewable, and a simply horrid chicken in satay sauce.
We were very hungry, but left the starters.
We called the waitress, and suggested we pay full price, as we were in a hurry, but being polite and very English ordered another course, which contained soggy tofu in an over salted sauce, and a simply unbelievable squid with a Michelin star, but obviously from the wrong department, in a disgusting pile of salt and cornflour.
I have never done this before, but I paid £40, feigned illness and left.
For anyone following the threads, check out the Observer today, the restuarant review , is fantastic and is very relevent to the earlier Big Brother thread.(below)
