The ceiling hasn't fallen in yet as those who wish to inherit their parents dosh can always choose to care for them themselves. Actually Andrew inheritance tax hits the middle classes hardest. It's also responsible in part for ruining British Industry.You cannot pass it on,so sell it,and leave it as a public company,not in private hands.Privately owned companies think longer term,not quick bucks like PLCs.
