this policy happens in Australia but is far tougher- those in nursing homes put up their houses against costs - and was introduced by a conservative government.
The ceiling hasn't fallen in yet as those who wish to inherit their parents dosh can always choose to care for them themselves.
Or does ITK prefer a good dose of socialism where the state provides free care for the elderly?

All parties do research into varying ideas,it's nothing more than seeing how various schemes will work out if put into practice.....I believe the Looney Libs did one some years ago about joining The Euro....
We have inheritance tax pretty much the same thing, it was something that was supposed to be scrapped by the Tories, it still remains more, just bullshit from the blues.
Actually Andrew inheritance tax hits the middle classes hardest.
It's also responsible in part for ruining British Industry.You cannot pass it on,so sell it,and leave it as a public company,not in private hands.Privately owned companies think longer term,not quick bucks like PLCs.
