Grandpa Harley I tend to blame a Church that has lost it's purpose and focus (certainly in the United Theocracy of America)

In the grand tradition Christianity, the only thing unifying the various sects in the US is the systemic vilification of a minority group. You can't get away with blacks, women or Jews any more, so Gays it is. If they didn't have them, they'd have to do what they always did in stop gap situations... kill each other.
