Topic History of: Sa23Aug: Galloway - Belfast "House Full"

Contraversial The show has been the focus of attempts by some unionist politicians to have it banned.

“Just fancy that,” said Galloway, “the response in the surge of tickets clearly indicates that people value free speech and want to hear what I have to say. A thousand people are paying £12 to hear my views. I’m not sure anyone would turn up to hear any other politician if he or she paid them twelve quid.”

“I know that many, many people have been unable to get a ticket. I’m presently involved in a mammoth tour in Scotland called 'Just Say Naw', campaigning for a no vote in the referendum, and I am sure that many people in the audience next Saturday will be asking me why? I’ll give my reasons and I will make a promise to come back to Belfast just as soon as I can.”
