Foz I know someone who was there in the bar at the time the attack happened during their honeymoon.
Spent hours hiding from room to room with a small group whilst guns were firing outside; when they ran to another place of safety, the person in front of them was shot dead. Eventually a SWAT team spirited them out of the danger zone straight onto an aircraft back to the UK. Didn't get their suitcase and passport back for months. Not a great start to married life, but could've been much worse
JK2006 I loved it; I've known so many hotels like this (still do). Made me think I'd like to pop back there - if it didn't involve a long flight!

My favourite bit was when the housekeeper laid down to check under the basin in a bathroom; so right, I've many times, lying in the bath, noticed a piece of dirt at floor level and I really hate it.

And - like the guests at the Taj, I like the fact that I still visit a dozen hotels around the world where numerous staff say "Welcome back Mr King".

I loved the fact that they didn't mention, anywhere, the terrorist attack. They may do in a future programme but it would have been a mistake to have it from the start.

JK2006 I had a Suite there for a wonderful week in 1989. The head of Sony India provided me with his daughter's car to drive (you couldn't hire a self drive car there then). It will be interesting to see - at BBC2 8pm - how it's changed over 25 years - including the terrorist attack.
