Spee Putting the media aside as well as politics, delays etc. - there were three major factors in this tragedy:-

1. Inept policing/inexperienced Commander

2. Dated turnstiles/ground and terraces

3. Lack of stewarding and medical facilities

The late arrival of 1,000s of fans was the last straw...

JK2006 I have very mixed feelings about this; clearly police have always behaved very badly. They lie; they cover up; they are often incompetent and sometimes criminal. More often than you would imagine. But it should not have taken 29 years to get to the bottom of this; any truly guilty cops should have been punished within months, not years. Lessons should have been learned. I have a horrible feeling we are seeing scapegoats who will be punished and blamed far more than they deserve. And one thing is for certain - police today are busily perverting the course of justice and misconducting public office with impunity and no shame. Encouraged and assisted by the media and by politicians and many in the legal world.
