Wouldn't disagree with that.
Although remuneration is driven by many factors - not least the financial package available from a previous employer.
One example - Nick Robinson of BBC's Today programme. When he returned from ITV, he was in a position to negotiate an improved/lucrative BBC deal.
Better than most of his Today colleagues, irrespective of gender. The BBC simply had to make it worth his while, if they wanted him to return.

Silliest thing; there should be an ABILITY pay gap; not one based on gender, skin colour or religion.
