It is a ridiculous situation. If the facts of the story are correct, it's highly unlikely he would make the same awkward pass towards her again. I should think her fear springs from her own feelings of embarrassment with the outcome. Kissing "on her shoulder, neck and back of her head" is not the same as, say, had he quickly run his hand up and over one of her breasts while standing there talking about the wasps.
