JK2006 They were fabulous - juicy, fresh, magnificent; the princes of the sea. Eat a mackerel; save a life.

JK2006 Found two beautiful, fat, line caught mackerel in my local Waitrose (though they must have tried to hide them under several rather smaller versions). One of the best meals in the world; simply grilled for five minutes each side; large pat of butter; fresh lemon juice; mashed potatoes; tomatoes and a glass of chilled Puligny Montrachet. I cooked one for my Mum towards the end of her life, when she had given up eating, and I've never seen an appetite return so rapidly. She almost ate the bones. "That's the most delicious meal I've ever had in my life" she said, aged 91.
