Yes you would have thought considering the media profile that MWT could have mustered for funding would have been utilised.
I’ve been told that if I’d had the secret money then I would myself have been on the wrong side of the law - not part of the plan and naive guidance - considering the experienced ‘team’ I had beside me.
I’m no further forward but am grateful for what I do have; I’m in a much better place than many others and for that I’m fortunate.
Did I need more? Of course but it obviously was not meant to be. I’ve reasoned it in my own mind that my mother would understand that I’ve tried all that I can.
At least I’ve managed with the help of my son, local MP Chris Heaton- Harris to keep my father in a cat C - for the immediate future anyway.
As for PE putting an article with insinuating reference beside - never ... they wouldn’t do that... would they now.

Unfortunately, it is the mainstream media that is the problem. Journalists don't care. People are disposable in their world.
It's all about money, clicks and keeping their (rapidly) dwindling advertising going.

Thanks for explaining that, Sam, and sorry for casting doubt on you as well as MWT, but one can never be sure. It does look as if he has been a bit slippery. What I can't understand is why he wanted the fundraising aspect to be kept quiet. Surely if fundraising was going to be done online, a reason for the fundraising would have had to be given for it publicly - presumably the actual reason for which funds were to be raised and not a false reason. I notice that Private Eye have included a snippet on the same page about someone pocketing club takings for himself, but perhaps they're not trying to imply any connection between that and their MWT article. |

Thank you Sam for explaining the nature of your issue with Williams-Thomas his offer to you was very easy to make and I feel he thought he would get the closure for you your family and your late mother. This sounds like a defence for him but it's not because the man is a deluded idiot that as is pointed out above has been lucky to of had everyone captivated by everything he says without challenge.
As Sam says it's like everything is a TV drama creating a mystery you only need to see his promotional images the looking out to sea, the bleak landscape shots we know W-That has been advisor on various TV police dramas and the two things, real life and TV dramas are a million miles apart one is to entertain the other to conclude and allow justice for the aggrieved.
Williams-Thomas is off in a new direction now all about staying out of the lime light un less the NEW Jimmy Savile story plops in his lap although I do feel it's going to come back and bite him in the not to distant future. |

I can't.
it's a sign of the times though in which the media who have been so all powerful in the past, suddenly have entered a new world where the old rules no longer apply.
For example: the way such lofty and powerful TV pundits in the US like Bill O'Reilly and Matt Lauer have bitten the dust so spectacularly (@MeTooTooToo successes of course)
MWT has been in an oddly unique position though. A not greatly talented ex-lower decks copper looking for a new career (and leaving the force before the pretty early pension retirement age?) who stumbled into, what for the media has been the "Biggest Story" of the century (until the next one that is).
He surfed along seizing upon every chance without caring about the numerous pitfalls and seemingly believing he was unassailable and created for himself the numerous dangers that would consume him.
I noticed early on some of his bungles and I thought very odd for someone to be so careless..such as that claim in The Mirror that he had "30 years investigating child abuse" at age ..44?. Why make such a bizarre claim and allow it to remain when it could have been so easily corrected...except I think he believed that it did not matter and that he was also now so "in" with the tabloid media he could get away with anything.
These were indications of how his police career must have been conducted..another early sign was how he almost boasted of how he arrested an innocent man (ie: never faced a court so never convicted) over alleged child abus eimages who shortly after committed suicide. MWT expressed nil sympathy and basically sort of gloated over the matter...and that while still pushing this notion which no-one believes..that he alone conducted cases and arrested people. |
