He was 76, massively overweight with a history of heart problems, you can't say that this was due to 'false" allegations. He should be relieved that he got off lightly with the unproven allegations. He lied about even appearing on the clunk click show, this wouldn't have looked good in court.
Did he lie or did he forget? It's also worth remembering that the person who accused him served time in jail for a crime of dishonesty: writing cheques that she didn't have the funds to cover (source). According to this report, the allegations "broke him" and people close to him said that he never recovered.

Very sad day.

Sadly I believe the false accusations killed him.

Even the media try to believe the accusations on GMB.

He went downhill very rapidly after the false allegations, and they WERE false.
Please check the details and the history of the accuser if you are not sure.

I dont know why you assume it is a lie if someone doesnt remember a job they had forty-five years ago.
Do you remember every single day of your work?
I dont.

I saw some fool saying that Starr lied about meeting the accuser and then a photo was shown with them together.... except she was BEHIND HIM!

My sister, has to remind me all the time when we met Bros in the mid 80s. (Whatever year it was)

I don't even remember the night because I was plastered. I know we went because we have ticket stubs.

I don't remember every customer who stepped in my pub or what their drinks were.

I think I have mentioned this before, but there is a video somewhere of me horsing around with Bono, who I could have sworn I had never met beyond being in the same room and possibly saying hello.

If I was on national prime time television show, then I would remember. How do you know that they were false. You are quite happy to accept that because the accuser lied about her age, then everything else that she said was a lie, but Starr lies about been on a prime time tv show, then that is ok. The allegations were 5 years ago now, so I don't think that you can blame them. It may be the stress of been dumped by his much younger wife, or that he was quite old, had a history of heart problems (before yewtree), and was grossly overweight, and his career was going downhill because his brand of 'comedy just isn't in-vogue anymore.

YOU would remember being on a prime time tv show Robbie, because presumably it is not something you do very often.
For someone like Freddie Starr, it is humdrum.

It is of course possible that his health may have deteriorated anyway, but I am sure being accused of something horrible that finishes your career cant help very much.
The effect of long term stress on health is well known.
