Barney A Man for All Seasons - with Paul Schofield (as Thomas More), and Wendy Hiller as his wife had several major themes.

One was depicted in a wonderful man to wife speech - where the uneducated lady moaned (before More's execution) that she was unworthy of him.

In a brilliant speech, More explained that her humility, kindness and love - were even more important than his brave and courageous, albeit fatal, stance against Henry VIII.


Bet Midler's rendition of Hero, at the Super Bowl - and elsewhere - tells a similar story, about a departed loved one.
