When I moved to London in the 1990s I got tickets via the BBC to be in the audience for The News Huddlines.
Horrified at the time that I seemed to be the youngest there, when Roy did his 'warm up' he'd single me out each time as literally being the youngest there - "This isn't a youth club sonny, Soho is round the corner!".
Bless him. Great wit and also a great satirist. |

I saw Krankies for an adults only gig that was hilarious.
We've all heard of those Krankies' 'adult only' gigs, the dirty people!
Roy Hudd's entire theatrical archive is going to the University of Kent - what a treasure trove that will be.
I hope his archive will be appreciated, not 'racist' what students find everything these days to be. |

Versatile enough also, to do serious theatre acting (including Shakespeare) as well as TV soaps, musicals and movies.
A major gap in essential British entertainment history has been severed...
Surely a gap can't be severed, only opened up. Even the most vigilant posters make mistakes.
I don't think I have ever heard Roy Hudd use even mild swear words on tv, however they can be very different live.
