Magical place Honey - with many famous residents, and home to royalty in the past. With some of the UK's best restaurants - and great weather.

London Victoria is only 55 minutes away by train - hence it's full of us Londoners. Cricket and sailing - par excellence.

Better beaches though further west - down Dorset and Devon/Cornwall way. Just too far from the metropolis - and civilisation.

Oh I love Brighton, just not crowded stoney beaches.

Mind you, I haven't been for ages and ages because the journey is a bit of a chore from here.

I had one of my worst moments on Brighton beach.
I went for a swim and my boat had too much of an overhang for me to climb back in and I had no clothes on.

The best beach for me is Weymouth.

Honey you can't leave us dangling like this: how did the story end?
I did the only thing possible. I swam to the shore, kept my head up,fixed my eyes into the distance, and sauntered onto the beach as if it was completely normal.

I go red every time I think of it.
Fantastic and very British management of the situation Honey!
