Well, in my opinion at least - over 2.8 million deaths, in just a year - merits special attention.

Were these all covid deaths then Barney? Do you have some data the rest of us aren't privvy to? Or is "died with" seriously enough for you? Had you even heard that vague & expansive expression before March 20? How many have died as lockdown collateral victims worldwide now? Where are those stats? Remind me? That's right - no one is collating them or rolling them round the news cycle 24/7. Not a good story - yet.

Of course this is a disease that has killed a significant number. No one has said otherwise on here; the question is proportionality of response & the dreadful harm it has caused.

3.6 million children die of hunger a year globally. Year in year out. But we are innured to the horror of this. There is no story in it. As we will be innured to Covid pretty soon as it recedes into the background to another virus we live with, get vaccinated for and it kills some vulnerables every winter who we do our best to protect.

This is always what covid has been, just minus the vaccine. It is the most inflated & distorted story of our lifetimes.
Margrave I fully understand that, and the economic cost of it all - but feel that this Covid is unique in so many ways, apart from being totally new.

Simultaneously and randomly infecting, in virtually every territory on earth - no maladie has done that before, except for 'flu.

All because of its highly potent infectiousness - as yet undetermined or successfully analysed. Thankfully though, this version isn't too lethal.
JK2006 Special attention - yes Barney. Over reaction? No. Millions die each week in this world.

Covid, of course, isn't a deadly virus
