Jo On today's BBC news coverage of the Ghislaine Maxwell trial starting, they showed a clip of Virginia Roberts Giuffre (they just can't get enough of her) telling the BBC (judging from the back of the interviewer's head, Darragh MacIntyre) that she felt "sick" when supposedly told by Ghislaine Maxwell that she'd have to do for Prince Andrew what she did for Epstein. She told Australia's 60 Minutes, she felt "absolutely disgusted" when told this. Yet in the photo, which she claims taken when they arrived back from Tramp and just before Prince Andrew abused her, she's smiling, has her arm round Prince Andrew and is leaning into him. She doesn't look "sick" or "absolutely disgusted" at all.

There seems to be conflicting information out there as to whether this woman will testify in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial or just attend as a spectator - no doubt available for comment to the media.
Jo Prince Andrew served with papers, accuser's team claims

Lawyers for the woman who has accused Prince Andrew of sexual abuse claim they have successfully served him with legal papers.

Virginia Giuffre has launched a civil case against the prince in New York - and legal papers have to be "served" before the case can proceed.

Her lawyers say they were served on 27 August, being left with a police officer at Windsor's Royal Lodge.

Prince Andrew denies all the claims made by Ms Giuffre.

A spokeswoman representing the Duke of York has declined to comment on the latest development.

A US judge must determine whether the papers were in fact "served" before any case can proceed.

A video conference on the next stages of the case is scheduled for a New York court on Monday.

According to court documents, an answer is due from Prince Andrew to the affidavit by 17 September and "if you fail to respond, judgment by default will be entered against you for the relief demanded in the complaint".

BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell said it was still not clear yet whether Prince Andrew's legal team would accept that legal papers have been served.

If a civil case against Prince Andrew coincides with Ghislaine Maxwell's trial (Judge sets November for start of Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial), I wonder whether the GM trial/media coverage will affect the outcome of the civil case.
Honey I read some tosh about them not being able to serve him papers in The Queen's presence.

Isn't there an equivalent to Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice in America? If there is surely Justice in the States should prosecute this dreadful woman. Carl Beech got 18 years for his lies in the UK. She should be jailed for a similar amount of time (unless, of course, she can prove her claims are true).

she's the most unlikable "victim" of them all.

an ex-hooker trying to cash in. Husband and kids must be so proud of her.

I predict this matter will not get past first base in a US court. You need a lot more evidence than just claims and US authorities have already said they regard Andrew as a witness only.

Ambulance chasing lawyer and a PR agent..some victim.

and yes why is she suing just Andrew ? (probably because the Epstein estate have tied everything up for years and years.

the very notion a royal would "settle" in such a case is laughable and indicates her goat of a lawyer is completely ignorant of the power of the British establishment.

Andrew's real problem is the UK media don't like him and are using a Trollope to attack him.
hedda completely pissed off with the media who assume on not a scintilla of proof that Andrew is "fleeing" to Balmoral.

The sheer lunacy that any Yank rep could serve a Summons at Windsor Castle, Balmoral or any Royal residence.

## One of my closest pals in Oz is a retired private detective who was an expert on serving summons on the wealthy and famous all over the world including Onassis.

Not only is it incredibly expensive there is always a cut -off point where costs outweigh the results.

One of his famous cases was trying to serve the likeable rogue Alan Bond who after 18 months he tracked down to a lunch in a restaurant but the bank pulled the plug even though he assured them it could be done within the hour as Bond left.."no, we've spent too much. too late" said the bank customer not wishing to spend another $1000.
