Excellent piece by Matthew Paris on the very limited deaths that actually resulted from Covid, the lack of any link between lockdown measures and excess deaths and the self-inflicted damage of the panic:
I am surprised it has taken such a usually insightful commentator so long. This has seemed obvious to me since near the start.
I don't think I am smarter than Matthew Paris: I think it is more likely that it is only now he feels fully free to say these things.
Which is as scary as our over reaction, actually.
Please come out of the woodwork now other intelligent commentators and public figures. It is vital that we learn the lessons from The Great Panic of 2019-2021.
Future lives depend on it and, sadly, too many needless deaths have already and will result from our actions over the past two years.
