Absolutely correct. There's thousands of innocent people in prison, as JK has been saying for years.
Independent adjudicators (Judges) are essential to the legal process, but post-judgement analysis must be mandatory.
Most certainly in serious and major cases. And particularly when the jury is split.

These days the outraged majority are free to consider someone guilty who has been found innocent, but has no appetite to ever consider that someone may have been found guilty who is innocent. In other words, people are addicted to condemnation.
