dixie I'm in agreement on Marselle too. I used to go every 4 years, as England played a warm-up game against France before the Rugby World Cup there. We would enjoy a few days around the old port enjoying the August sunshine. This year, the RFU chose to play their warm-upp games against Wales - in Cardiff. (I didn't go!).
JK2006 I'm with you David - love Marseilles for the same reason.
david I can't believe I spent 2 years in the South of France (Aix-en-Provence) and never once went to the beach.

Nice-Cannes and that part were never my thing tho. I fell in love with Marseille, and still love it today. It has both dark and light, something the more glamorous places lack for me.
