Buonarroti Simoni Next year, after the forthcoming EU directive on child protection is ratified, the statute of limitations will be abolished throughout the European Union with regard to alleged child sex offences.

Why should any be needed? If you have a crime committed against you - you complain. Why should you wait (sometimes years)? That only makes a complaint suspect ... and ensures that any evidence will have disappeared.

ITK, the SoL is for the benefit of the alleged accused....

Do innocent people wish to have a bogus crime hanging over their heads for decades?

a Statue of Limitations is vital for innocent people as well.

The fact there is no Statute on sex crimes is a disgrace if only for the fact evidence diminishes over time.as does people's memories of events... yet belief in guilt in sex rimes increases as does apparently memory in these cases.

If all compensation were dropped in sex related matters I believe historic abuse would vanish overnight for

The CPS are supposed to weigh up the evidence, and come to a conclusion about if a case has a realistic chance of sucess, this they do badly given conviction rates.

My solicitor told me that the longer the time wait the less likely conviction is.
From the trials I've been to see (about 20) you're more likely to get an historical conviction if there is more than one complainant.Perhaps getting together with a sister,or as in JK's case trawling the gutters to find pliant scum to seduce with jail privelages/compensation etc.

That said wasn't it convieniant the american false allegation got him out of the IMF,and this one hindered his chances of going for the Froggie Presidency.

Talking of frogs there's a good deal on 5 litres of red plonk at £4 in Auchan
