robbiex The bbc should really do a tribute show, as he meant so much for people of my generation.

PaulB to inject some appropriate music

PaulB For me, as a regular kid, John Noakes made Blue Peter more watchable. Peter Purves was too much like a teacher trying too hard to be trendy. Val Singleton was Antie Val, very proper, but in a nice way. Lesley Judd was just nice.
John came across as very natural, and he was the Action Man of the show. He might have been totally different when not on screen, but he made a positive contribution to my growing up.
He was an inspiration.
robbiex I know that this shouldn't be on the tipsheet, I posted it here by mistake. However Blue Peter did often feature music, including Abba at the height of their fame, when they rarely made tv appearances.
