When Paul Da Vinci sang for Bill Hurd's Rubettes he was fantastic. Alan William's Rubettes had more energy but Sugar Baby Love sounded shit. I still listen to their last 70s albums: Still Unwinding and Sometime In Oldchurch.

For me "The" Rubette is the falsetto man (Paul somebody?) who provided the best intro of all time, even if he never featured again.

I saw Bill Hurd's Rubettes with Paul Da Vinci and it was a great night out. Then I saw Andy William's Rubettes a weeks after. Andy made sure the audience was his Rubettes.
Weren't the Rubettes just sessions staff thrown together ?
