Michael It might be illegal, but it's certainly not unwatched. At any time, there are 15 million "shares" taking place on the P2P networks worldwide. The details of these "transactions" can easily be tracked to individual computers. The degree of detail depends on how much the networks and ISPs want to know. In general, they stop at tracking inside e-mails. But they could easily do that as well if they were allowed.

What people often forget is that the same technology that enables you to share music, enables other to track it. It's obvious if you think about it.

The ISPs, in particular, have to know consumer habits to enable them to provide adequate bandwidth, etc. So they have to have an idea of what people are using their cables for.

FYI, Madonna, Gwen Stefani and Shakira were topping the charts last week with about 3 million downloads each. The top-trading software was Nero, ironically, followed by Norton Antivirus and Div X. The top movies were Doom, Serenity and The legend of Zorro (already a total of about 8 million downloads).

Anything else you'd like to know?
Martin K I find it interesting how many viewings and how little replies there are. Why are the majority of people afraid to comment? The hit counter on my website was going like a clock from Sunday after linking on sites to some music, but the total of comments are only about 30 via e mail and message boards, all positive, which is cool, but this also brings up the subject of just how much illegal and unwatched downloading is going on doesnt it?
