I can't agree with your conclusions JK - there is more here than just wanting violence and to kill people, these youngsters believe in this cause, they believe in it with all their hearts and conviction. They may be misguided, they may be radicalised or manipulated - but that is why people go to fight voluntarily - they believe in the cause - remember all those British who went to fight in the Spanish Civil War.
Criminalising these young people will not work, and will create huge problems for us in the UK for the future.
God help us against religion of any form. |

Looking at the British children going to fight in Iraq or Syria or wherever, might I point out that it's natural for children (and new technology has made anyone under 30 think and behave like a child) to want to kill things - be they flies or people. Violence is natural to them until they are taught and trained that it's wrong. It has always happened through Ireland and Israel and everywhere - and I actually believe that's why many children sign up to be soldiers.
Killing people (new technology enabled very small children to do it in video games) is hugely attractive to them. Religion? Society? Rebellion? No, the motive is simply - it's an excuse to be violent and kill. |
