They all say they knew. Given the power the press has, then why was nothing published? Remember, the first allegation in the Yewtree report was the 22 year old married woman (at the time) who wanted decades later to tell her kiss'n'tell story to the Sun. Like a lot of the Yewtree piffle, there was no assault or attempted assault - Savile merely propositioned her, and politely took no for her answer, even gave her a keepsake which she still has. The Sun balked at publishing, unless she made a complaint to the police - which she didn't want to do. Quite how a proposition to an adult gets recorded as an "offense" in the Yewtree report, well, you'd better ask the NSPCC.
Checking the individual cases that Annaraccoon has put up so far, the cases are all equally trivial or unproveable.
What worries me - what draconian legislation will ride in on the back of "preventing this happening again"?
