not a new trend but one that will increase.
I had an old friend who claimed a Catholic priest on charges had abused him and he got substantial compensation.
I challenged as he told me he had never been abused in his life :response-"he's on so many charges mine will make no difference and it's the Church that pays the compo."
Like JK I'm a big believer in Karma. Didn't surprise me when i was recently told that a year ago he loaded a car with cans of petrol and drove into a tree at high speed- car exploded and he was incinerated.
(his brother was upset- he lent him the car, hadn't finish paying it off and was uninsured ) |

Convicted criminals will start naming famous (and usually dead) celebrities who abused them in their youth. I witnessed this regarding locally accused people when I was inside; the lads scoured the local papers for a vicar, teacher or doctor being accused and added their names (though they had never met them). Police had to take the allegations seriously ("you will be believed") and they were added to the lists, got small compensation amounts and a huge difference to the way they were treated in prison (after all, they would NEVER have killed that old lady if they hadn't been abused as children). Suddenly, as victims, they got sympathy, attention and free cups of tea.
When I challenged them they said "it won't make any difference to the verdict".
Even better now if the accused is dead - and was famous. Media fees, publicity. Why, they might even get sentences reduced.
Just watch. The madness mounts. |
