steveimp I have a cousin who is the spitting image of Valerie Leon way back then.... very very uncanny and very very odd.
zooloo Unfortunately when I read William Franklyn I thoght to my self "Who was he" the name was familiar.

The answer came... "Shhh... you know who" - which is pretty sad of me

When asked about why he did the advert his reply was something along the lines of "Why did I do it? My children's private education, my house in X, Y and Z, my etc etc".
Grandpa Harley Thoughts with wife and family.

I may have to go to Nostalgia in Birminghm and leave tongue marks on Valerie Leon (who was my fist major actress crush after Goldie Hawn)
Al A little remembered but very funny film featuring William Franklin along with Arthur Askey and Thora Hird. Although I also grew up with William Franklin as the "Shhh ... you know who!" guy. Not sure that he ever lived that advert down. A very good character actor.
JK2006 All the voices and faces of our youth are drifting away...

I suppose it's called getting old.

All I watch these days are Lovejoy, Avengers, Rumpole, Poirot....
