Grandpa Harley They apparently both hated Tony Blackburn... at least according to Peel... doubtless JK would have the skinny on that...

steveimp Kenny turned radio into an experience; John Peel turned radio into an education. Both styles live together very, very well.
Grandpa Harley Everett was the best of the 'character' DJs, where as Peel was more about the music... least IMO...Having said that KE championed Bo-Rap... so he had his moment too...

I listened to KE for very different reasons and than I did JP. To compare the two is like comparing Stan Laurel to Humphrey Bogart. Both were great at what they did, but what they did was so radically different as to make the comparison meaningless...
Vince W There are different sorts of DJ's. In my eyes Kenny was the best British personality DJ, John Peel was the best music DJ...

Funny how none of the DJ's working now come close to either of them....
