Thats not independence (standing alone on your own feet), thats keeping the bits you want and getting rid of the bits you don't - having your cake and eating it !!!!
During his 2 terms in office he has relied on "passing the buck".
During his first (minority) term, he relied on Scottish Tory support to pass his budgets and get his legislation through.
During his second term he kept making promises ... and said it was not his fault that he could not deliver.
The nationalists claimed they wanted to "protect the NHS" - but the devolved Scottish government has always had control over the Scottish NHS !
They claimed that they wanted to give Scots more - no bedroom tax, for example - but the Scottish government has always had the power to raise its own taxes - and never ever used them !
It was far more convenient to claim the benefit for anything that went right and blame London for anything they could not / would not deliver. A blatantly misleading statement.
Not often I agree with his Bakewellness...but this is spot on! |

Yes - a massive novelty; and teenagers tend to go for the more exciting project; revolution and change are such fun - as is pulling the wings off flies and other amusing death games - as we see in Northern Ireland (past decades) and Gaza and ISIS and the other "join us and have fun killing people" games. |
