Chris Retro It is the only way. The stench of hypocrisy is overwhelming and if this is left to fester it will only get worse. retardedkingdom.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/m...omment=1411546096436

And I suppose the old chestnuts of Dirty Den EastEnders episodes will now emerge. Should they be wiped? Other past film stars - if, after death, ghastly allegations are made, should that mean Gone With The Wind, for examples, should be destroyed? Oscar Wilde plays never performed again? Phil Spector records binned?

I've been through all this and, as you know, got an answer and apology from the decent Director General of the BBC (vilified as a result). Should we now take up the cudgels and demand all ARCHIVE records of the Mail expunge mentions and pictures of Savile? If not, why not, Mr Dacre? What's good for the goose…

I'm sure more than seven complaints from Mail Online Archive fans could be sent to that organisation.

Am thinking of contacting the BBC to ask why they continue to allow The Pyschiatrist episode of Fawlty Towers to be shown and sold, given that it contains footage of Basil Fawlty committing a serious sexual assault on an Australian guest without any legal sanction, something which I'm sure they will agree is utterly unacceptable in a modern day context.

The only problem is I'm scared they will take me seriously and quicklime the show and I'll have contributed to the further destruction of our cultural heritage.

I wonder if AYBS will be edited as Mr Lucus groped Mr Humphries and Miss Brahms.

A bit more rewriting of history.

A few years ago, the BBC released all the series of the Two Ronnies on DVD. In the latest pressings however, there have been changes. In Series 9 Episode 8, 90 seconds have been cut from the "Crop of the Flops" sketch, in which Barker & Corbett appear as "The Two Jimmies", introducing the show, doing the chart rundown and providing links between the acts. In the revised version, the Two Jimmies have completely vanished. A photo of the Two Jimmies on the back cover of the DVD has also been replaced. These changes also apply to the discs in the complete Two Ronnies box set.

How the sketch originally appeared:

So it would appear that even though Jimmy Savile never appears in this episode, merely impersonating him is deemed to be likely to cause offence.

The sketch is excellent it should be left on the DVD.
