JK2006 Agreed Randall and loved Hustle but these films are great fun to watch. I do like Tom Cruise too; he won his way forever into my heart dancing in his underpants to Bob Seger. I just hired the latest; watched it when it came out in a movie theatre in Fes with a Moroccan friend who could not believe I knew all the locations (in Morocco) much better than he did! It was extraordinary; even little roads they filmed on were places I knew well.
Randall .... but not a patch on the TV series.

The whole point of Mission Impossible (if not Lalo's theme tune) is the intricate plan and the finely coordinated ensemble teamwork. The film franchise makes it yet another formulaic superspy/hero male lead showcase. I think the TV series Hustle from a few years ago came closer to the MI spirit.
JK2006 I started watching this Third episode on Mission Impossible last night on Ch4 and then went into a deep sleep during an interminable commercial break, so hired it from Amazon and watched the rest today; very good, very well done; I missed it first time around.
