An understanding of why a crime (if there ever was one) happened, is needed so we can predict and prevent similar offences.
If the system is inherently unfair, and even encourages people to top themselves instead of going through a trial, we have a skewed idea of the problem, and are less likely to stop it happening in future. |

The positive to be taken is that people stood up and were counted, and said: ‘Yes, this happened to me and it was wrong.’ I feel that admitting is step one, disclosing is step two then healing is step three. Once survivors get their head around this news, they can start to heal.”
I wonder how many genuine abuse victims worry so much about not being believed that they don't report the crime to police. One would think that abuse would be far worse than the risk of not being believed. The above sounds to me like someone who has been doing research, picking up buzz words/ideas on the subject. Using "they" seems a little odd too when referring to survivors, if he's supposedly one of them.

But presumably did not launch the careers of considerably more. Perhaps some decided to get even. |

We have both seen how lies can get distorted to look like the truth with clever spin...especially if you make it easy and profitable for people of bad reputation to do so.
The very paper who stoked up the lies of 'Project Fear' Mark 1-4 appear to have learned this trade from turning false allegations into another type of Project Fear....feminist beliefs that all men are evil,and all lies have to be believed....
....Only Carson himself knows the truth,and he sadly decided the stress in old age of standing trial in the full blaze of publicity was something he was not up to facing.... |

The Guardian proudly claims credit for killing this man. I remember the days when it was a liberal publication, supporting victims. Now I see police (and Guardian) still continue to describe False Accusers as "victims". I think, reading the news reports, this decent and honest man knew he could not prove lies were lies, decided that 75 was a decent age and crashed into a tree deliberately; killed by the British Judicial system. But I could, of course, be wrong.
