Barney Lord Saville concluded, in his summing up of the 14 killings - that they were 'unjustified and unjustifiable'.

His inquiry - called for by Tony Blair - wound up in 2010, lasted 12 years and cost £200 million.

David Cameron later apologised for the actions of the Parachute Regiment - who fired at unarmed marchers, on a peaceful parade.

Now, nearly 50 years later, one ex-soldier will be brought to justice.

Many feel that - after such a detailed examination of the events - this outcome is unsatisfactory.

In that only one man is found accountable, for some of the 14 deaths.
