Starting with the World Cup, the last year has been amazingly successful and highly lucrative for the top teams.
Just some random points:-
- the English Premier League will be decided today, the last day of the season
- between Manchester City and Liverpool, who have both accumulated an unprecedented 90+ points
- the four teams in the Europa and Champions League finals are Englsh, coming from the same country for the first time
- in London, Spurs built a £1 billion stadium, complete with it's own brewery and a retractable pitch; this will allow for concerts to take place immediately after a game
- more people are now following football than any other sport, pastime or religion, and the EPL is shown live in every country on earth
It's only a matter of time before a full European League starts with the top teams from England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Holland.
