There is no argument for fox hunting in 2019. it is totally barbaric and outdated. Many people don't like Tory mps, but can we hunt and kill them no. Plenty of meat on Boris Johnson, would keep a small village in food for several days. Meat eating is unsustainable if the population keeps growing at the current rate. There simply won't be enough land to sustain all the cattle and fowl to sustain this population growth (300,000+) per year.

I could always go to America or Canada. What's wrong hunting for food Robbie?

Well fox hunting isn't hunting for food, only for very strange people. As for hunting for food, well this is ok if there is no alternative, but usually there is. We will have to move towards eating much less meat than we currently do. The population of the world, particularly the uk can't sustain meat production. It has an extremely high carbon food print, and requires a lot of land, which is dwindling. Also meat production produces methane gases which add to climate change. I'm a flexitarian myself, which means I probably eat meat, maybe 2 or 3 times a month. Meat tastes good, only because of the seasoning that is added to it, put the same seasoning on something like Quorn and it will taste pretty much the same and be more healthy and sustainable.

cHow is guzzling palm oil going to help the environment?

It seems madness to me to swap to something heavily processed when you could use any of the hundreds of pulses available instead.
You can even shape them to look like a chunk of meat, if you must.

Quorn is over-priced, over-seasoned rubbish, and not even vegan! (made with eggs from environmentally unfriendly hens)

There is no palm oil in Quorn, and eggs have a much lower carbon footprint than beef, lamb, or pork.

There is some small quantities of palm oil in some of quorn's ranges, but it is from sustainable sources. The idea of guzzling palm oil makes it sound like you are drinking it straight from a wine glass. Palm oil is virtually impossible to replace. Quorn also has a vegan range, so can be suitable for Vegans obviously.

I agree that eating pulses is a good sustainable way to help the environment and to cut down on meat, however I think that Quorn is the nearest thing to meat with regards to texture and taste.

Maybe not guzzling, But if you eat packaged food you are probably consuming far more of it than you intended.

Shea butter can be used like palm oil,but without the foul taste, and less saturated fat.
A patented shea butter product is due to go into general use as soon as manufacturing issues are resolved. Lets hope it stays ethical!

Are hens more environmentally unfriendly than beef cattle or lambs, the answer is no. Is the risk of cancer from Beef and Pork, greater than that from eating Quorn, the answer again is no.

I was in Texas recently, meet a hunter in his late 80's looks about 70. Eats more cattle than anything. He said if I got cancer when I'm 90 I be too old too care.

You said we cant sustain meat production. So how can Quorn be a substitute if we need hens and cows to make the product? It is beyond silly. (A lot of the products contain milk)

They have removed the palm oil from most products now (not all) which is good, but seems to be replaced by more rapeseed, which is not great for the environment either.
Maybe they will find something else soon.

The products are very salty, very sugary, use stripped flour, and have "flavourings" which, being pretty unregulated, cold contain ANYTHING, so Quorn is not very healthy, or a solution to the environmental issue.
It is a popular junk food. That is all it is.

If you like it, and if it makes it easier for you to avoid meat, go ahead and enjoy it, but dont be fooled by the marketing.

My advice for health is to stick to natural foods and leave out the salt and sugar as much as you can.
