I don't live in UK now but I do travel around British Isles for work. I had to travel to Hampshire last week. Popped in to several branches around county. I found it astonishing how many books were in a used condition, or in bad nick.

Hedda I agree I have a vast library in both my properties and my little secret hideaway in USA.

My daughter's are always lending me their religious books and biographies, in which I read out of politeness and curiousity.

I'm currently reading more about the bow hunter Fred Bear. I despise trophy hunting but times have changed since these books were published.
hedda I lurve book shops. I lurve books. Especially new ones. Book shops are really so exciting.

Love libraries as well..fortunately Sydney has superb ones. Probably because the colonialists needed to keep themselves occupied when they weren't fending off murderous Koalas.

Love my new car which has a CD player that works (so rare)..libraries full of talking books as well. Wonderful.
Barney I use the Dorking Waterstones too

Then park and shop in Waitrose

JK2006 I don't find that; I patronise Daunt Books; Waterstones (the Dorking one is excellent) and indie stores.
