Sorry but I have to step in, pedant or not, as this is now the second instance in this thread of the inaccurate use of the word verb.
"Very" and "good" when used with the noun "leader" are adjectives, not verbs.
Personally I would use other adjectives to illustrate our leader, previously or currently.
There are also several verbs I would like to do to him....
But this is polite company so I will refrain... |

Like what will become of the homeless and how will he deal with accommodation shortage and difficult homeless people who may lack disciple and/or have strong substance abuse etc Will Boris continue behaviour to social needs with the same brutality the police ofen operate under and many of the public as well or will he lead with kindness, compassion and reasonableness. I have no idea.
I don't think he has been a very good leader at all or a very bad one.We should have locked down sooner and harder. Instead of urging people to not go to the pubs, but still allow them to open was stupid and led to a surge in cases. Also I think the slight relaxing of restrictions on Monday was a mistake. To allow 6 people from different households to meet in a garden has and will lead to young people meeting for barbecues, getting drunk, losing inhibitions and going indoors. Any easing of restrictions should be to allow lonely elderley people to see relatives at a distance. The track and trace seems pointless. You have to let the track and trace team know about anyone you have been less than 2m from for over 15 mins. You shouldn't be near anyone for 15 mins as this is against social distancing rules. Rates are going down much more slowly than other countries. Cases in Italy are around 1/10th of that in the UK.
Tha Quarantine rules are probably a good idea. It won't dissuade anyone from coming here, because they wouldn't be coming anyway, unless they absolutely have to. Hotels, bars, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, museums, and even public toilets are all closed. No one is coming here for leisure. |

Here's Prof Ferguson, no less, speaking in April:
Ferguson, the adviser whose work formed the basis of the lockdown strategy, said that social distancing would need to be maintained even as restrictions eased. “Our estimates show we have relatively little leeway; if we relax measures too much then we’ll see a resurgence of transmission,” he told Today on BBC Radio 4. “If we want to open schools, let people get back to work, then we need to keep transmission down in another manner.
“And it’s not going to be going back to normal. We will have to maintain some level of social distancing, a significant level, until we have a vaccine available.”
