Totally agree re the conspiracy theory loonies. Yes, it is great that science is constantly evolving.
But there was a sound argument months ago that we were acting out of proportion and the interesting thing is why Govs did so willingly (media big part yes, but other factors as well) and people went along so readily.
It has always been a question of proportionality of response Vs damage by lockdown, and what the WHO are saying now is not some scientific fact newly uncovered this week.
I don't find your analogy to the blitz persuasive. Mainly because there was a real chance I might die if I went for a stroll during a bombing raid in defiant defence of my freedoms...
Whereas given my age and health I face a 0.5% chance of death through Covid 19. However, I have been avoiding anything in life with a higher rate than this - such as a hot bath - assiduously since March...  |

Wyot we're in uncharted waters here.
I listen to the experts but they don't always know what's best which I'm sure they would admit.
Genuine health experts are constantly learning about medicine & health & how to cure people..it's not a fixed science.
There is however another body of "experts" including doctors (mind you they often turn out to be PHDs or chiropodists with no formal medical training in viruses) who adamantly make claims along the lines of nutty Piers Corbyn ( a weather forecaster ?? ) who are "not for moving" in that they make absurd claims that Covid is a Hoax or that it cannot be spread etc etc.
I mean at his latest demo there is a picture of 2 ladies holding a sign saying "Herd Immunity Needed Now".
The absurdity of 2 frigging woman from a regional town telling people they should go out and catch Covid on their claim they will become immune is simply bizarre.
Who the f*cvk do they think they are telling the British population how to maintain their health ? Really they should be locked up for everyone's sake.
## Of course "herd immunity" might work although experts warn it won't but this is where we are at today:
A f*cking weather forecaster (with a lovely MP brother) and a frigging conspiracy plagiarist (he has nicked every claim he has made) & antisemite who says The Queen is a shape-shifting Reptile- David Icke tell us how we should care for our health?
Doesn't everyone see how bloody ridiculous that is?
Personally I think they should be locked up (including those ratbag ladies)..absolutely fixed minds without a scintilla of proof or evidence telling people to go and get sick. Dangerous dangerous bloody fools.
You should actually be pleased that The Experts (WHO etc) are constantly evolving in thought in the way this pandemic should be handled.

To be fair, if it had been implemented in a co-ordinated way with all the affected countries doing the same thing at the same time, it could have worked.
I suppose whoever thought of it never imagined the fiasco the crazed lunatics have created.
They wont listen to anyone now. It is too late. They have had a taste of power.
