JK2006 Today - my SIXTH test (home taken) in 3 weeks. Despite my Day Five proving negative (like all the others) I STILL have to take and send in my Day Eight test. Somebody simply hasn't thought any of this through. Luckily I can afford it but imagine all those who can't afford them.

And all so pointless; a trivial virus (for most).
Wyot The Gov has been quick to profiteer on the back of the Panicdemic. Why let a good chance pass....
JK2006 And talk about rip offs. Government sanctioned (taken from their official site) - almost £600 for two tiny Home Test kits to get quarantine lifted!

Margrave Byron Bay (called after a relative of Lord Byron) continues to attract the famous - largely because covid isn't usually an issue there.

Julia Roberts and George Clooney are making a movie there this year, as Australia also has generous tax incentives for such projects.

The Thor movie franchise has also benefited, as stars exit Hollywood/LA - with Netflix (the biggest movie producer) willing to locate anywhere.

However, Australia - and New Zealand - continue to have draconian covid rules. Those incoming - travel in almost empty planes, at enormous expense.

Margrave Yes awful news for the Lighthouse overlooked Bay - which is unforgettable to the visitors who fuel the local economy.

In European terms, coranovirus hasn't been a major problem - but a solitary infection has scuppered the region's biggest earner.

With recent shark attacks and beach sand disappearance - through an ocean current phenomenon - Byron will need time to recover.

Holiday homes for the rich and famous aren't enough to keep giving NSW's Byron the status it's become accustomed to.

Byron has no comparable European or UK location in geographic terms - and quickly became a must go destination, for us travellers.

St Ives, in Cornwall, just might be the closest the UK has to offer; it also attracts surfers and artists - even though access isn't easy.
