md I think control freakery - the obsessive desire to rule and manage others - is an underlying issue here. One thing that particular freaks control freaks out is other people having any kind of personal contact with each other. Control freakery, like work addiction, is a socially-sanctioned dis-ease that is often masked by terms such as 'good', 'strong', 'decisive', 'bold', 'driven' management.
Honey I am secretly thrilled that I don't need to hug strangers if I don't want to.

Those who need and want one will get one regardless of the rules.

...And in this paradise all value on human life was lost. With no darkness came no light. With no hatred no love. And so they saw their kind come to an end by their own hands. No longer recognising human value they shed blood unthinkingly in the quest for ever diminishing resources until their kind was no more...
JK2006 Some years ago we were nudged away from personal contact. "Friends" became people we never met. The wonderful Internet made us aware that we didn't actually have to meet anyone to be their friends, lovers, spouses. Already, in the past, the advent of radio and TV had boosted the film and movie morality; you could be intimate with total strangers.

This was terrific for the vast majority of humans who never got close to anybody anyway; to them Virtual Lovers were vastly preferable to the nasty, sticky, unpleasant personal contact needed for real intimacy.

Michael Jackson was a huge advocate. "I love you" he squeaked to people he never met (and never wanted to).

Indeed some people became convinced they had been raped by Jimmy Savile when they had actually never even met him in person.

Now, thanks to wonderful Covid, we are raising children to have no physical or mental communication with anybody, ever. Just as telephones convinced people they were speaking to other people (they weren't - they were speaking to an electronic buzz), now we wear masks, don't touch skin and Zoom.

Madness. But inevitable.

Artificial Insemination here we come. No rapes. No diseases. No abuse.
