The Pastor at my daughters Christian church is a metal head also. He loves Slayer and Mayhem despite their lyrics - it's called personal taste. I wouldn't call Iron Maiden music vulgar or offensive, they are not favourite band simply because I don't like Bruce Dickinson singing.

I don't like Saxon because their lyrics are so fucking corny.

They tried to ban Black Sabbath when I was a teenager. I was very grateful because the newspapers printed the (indecipherable) lyrics in full so I was able to sing along at last.

Thats' funny !!!

I know KISS made parents and religious groups mad for their style. I have all their studio albums, some bootlegs and solo albums. I haven't heard any lyrics about Lucifer etc. A lot of their songs are meaningless and their lyrics don't mean anything but they sound great - yes they are some raunchy stuff the song Nothing To Lose is about anal sex. Bowie made songs by using newspaper clippings.

I thought Nugent went a bit 'mad' when he sang Jailbait.

Wyot What's the problem with this?

Surely the teacher has religious freedom to worship Lucifer if she wishes? And if she does not actually believe the Lord of Darkness exists and is just a fan of a rock band; how can she be a devil worshiper?

I could have a problem with any Christian given the genocide, homicide, mysoginy, homophobia and pro slavery stance of the God they worship (he is quite explicit about this stuff - just check out an old horror novel called The Old Testament...)

But as their God isn't real; I don't and haven't (yet) defaced Cliff Richard CDs in my local HMV...
