Why people still use social media is beyond me.

The other side of it is that I got into a couple of genuinely interesting exchanges and felt a bit bad that I couldn't respond to all the genuine on there (many dissgreeing; many agreeing) who responded . There were just too many.

But that is about 50%; another 30% are aggressive and 20% vile. It is such a shame that so many act in a way online they wouldn't dream of in reality.

Come the morning it was all dead on twitter so far as I was concerned; I ate my cornflakes undisturbed by direct messages; and dreamed about being someone again....

I loved the bit where you were called a "cognitive straggler" (If I am looking at the right thing? Peter Hitchens seems to attract bunfights)

Yes it was actually a good phrase, must admit....!

PH on twitter is yes a bear pit and he does attract a lot of opprobrium. They just used me as a proxy on direct message that day; as they couldn't get him. But very revealing...

If a jury is anything like people on social media

People on social media...

The other day I had my own small taste of what having any level of fame on twitter can be like.

I hardly ever post on twitter (been months - much prefer koh!).

The other day I had the honour (as I consider him rather good on the subject) of having the 2 tweets I tweeted that day responding to a Peter Hitchen's thread on Covid (I know, I know I need to move on!) commented on and re tweeted by PH to his 158k followers.

They were measured, reasonable analysis - or he wouldn't have put them up. I was the only tweets that day he retweeted so apart from PH (who doesn't take direct messages) I was the other sole focus...

The shit directed at me (the surface of it public; the worst direct message) went on for hours on and off...."brain dead fucker", "cognitive cripple" "killer" etc etc.

I know I should just not of read it; but it was my five mins so couldn't resist!

But bloody hell what people with fame of some level have to put up with...
