Yes interesting and I have no memory of when it didn't happen (I am 49) in tabloids at least. But I do have memory of when it did not drive ALL public policy, as it depressingly seems to now..

I am all for politicians having parties; stoos them sitting around coming up with crap to try and further their careers.

I'm all for politicians saying "look I stuffed that up, so very sorry, won't do it again" and being able to get on with it.

They should also be able to say "I've changed my mind because etc etc blah blah.."

Instead they are bullied into being locked into a "position" by the media and never being allowed to divert from it.

Totally agree with this Hedda. It is an incredibly unhealthy situation. The media won't move from this moral outrage approach until the public stop lapping it up. I can't see this happening in an increasingly dumbing-down world.

Wonder if this will be Boris's downfall rather than Covid rules

I think so Jo. In fact I posted on here after the first party leak that this was the end of Boris. Next week or 6 months but it's the end.

I don't think it should be the reason: there are many serious issues he should have gone for long ago. But hypocrisy will animate the electorate like nothing else. While the needless removal of their freedoms will just pass them by...

The whole swamp needs to be drained.
