JK2006 You see the problem is those at the top. Like stupid Nick Ephgrave (failed candidate for top Met job) who, as Chief Constable of Surrey, ignored evidence that officers did not report three Deaths to the (then) IPCC as they should have done and failed to investigate officers who may have contributed to those deaths yet supported (I assume) the stupid Met prosecution of Williams who was clearly innocent of even a slight mistake and seems like exactly the kind of cop who WOULD have reported and investigated those deaths.

No Common Sense can easily progress to corruption or incompetence.
Wyot Yes on Williams' side - this is ridiculous and a gross waste of public money.
JK2006 I'm known for being seriously ANTI-Police but that's only anti the cops (and their bosses) not doing the right thing. In this case it seemed to me clear from the start (as in many of the arguments against Cressida Dick) that the police got it wrong in their behaviour towards this officer who clearly was not guilty of anything serious. Rather like Boris Johnson losing his job for trivial, silly, media hyped reasons (instead of for far worse offences). I'm on Williams' side. You?
