the South of France was indeed my most beloved holiday spot..so many things to love with a laid back lifestyle but still plenty of chic smartness.
But alas my lovely friend who owned a hotel and house in the beautiful walled town of Aigue Morte passed away and it was never the same again. |

Beaches - I now know excellent hotels near beaches which have clear water chlorine pools and since I always have a car, it's easy for me to get to the resorts for great food, meetings with holidaying friends, shopping etc... They are cheap (because most people want to be near the beach) and not packed, even in August.
Money - yes; back in the Sixties, when tax was 95p in the pound (leaving you sixpence in old money for each pound you earned; dear old Wilson) I was advised never to earn money personally but to make it for companies. They pay far lower tax (around 20p). Then, when I ran Decca for Sir Edward Lewis, I did it for no fee whatsoever but a massive payment of expenses. Ever since then, that has been the case. Otherwise I could NEVER have flown on Concorde 356 times.
But I did build up a substantial amount (after tax every year) over the years, for my old age. All that was indeed used up in my defence at the 2001 trial - let me rephrase that - WASTED.
These days, as with most intelligent people, I have no money that anyone can steal from me. Companies, trusts, pensions etc make life possible on my behalf. Even (like certain wealthy people who have "settled" cases brought by liars or blackmailers) thanks to the kindness and generosity of friends and supporters. |

Two things I can't understand...
If you don't like swimming in the sea, why do you go to beaches?
and
If you now (after the 2001 "debacle" that you say cost you a million) have no money, how can you afford all this foreign travel? |
