Prunella Minge It's another sign of what an egomaniac Gervais has become. It's ostensibly about Warwick Davies, but each episode has the same lazy structure, in which Warwick does a bit at the start and the end while in the middle he sits next to a guest star who engages in irrelevant badinage with Gervais. It's a real emperor's new clothes syndrome: cast a famous star in each episode, do the post-modern schtick of 'I'm not conceited, I'm mocking my image of being conceited,' stop after 12 episodes just because Fawlty Towers did and then pick up a pile of BAFTAs and Emmys.
JK2006 I'm afraid, after three episodes, I've decided it is.
