Leo came to one of my gigs once, when we were supporting his band, that went out on their own without him between tours.
We didnt expect to see him there at all, and as we were loading the gear in, he suddenly appeared, all dressed in white, and said "Hi lads, have you seen where the boys are from the band?". To which the unison reply was "There upstairs Leo!". We didnt know what to say, it was a case of aaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggghhh its Leo sayer!!
He was an absolute gent, and bought an drink for everyone that was there at the time, and even went out of his way to make sure, that everyone had had theres. |

I remember (as a kid) watching Leo on TOTP dessed as a clown - and my Mum said "If he has to get dressed up like that as a gimmick, then he can't have much talent, so won't be around for long".
I think that was the first time I realised that parents aren't always right ... sometimes talented people need a gimmick to get noticed - then it's the talent that will shine through.

Sometimes it's nice to see someone be so gratified by the late return of success.
Like Tony Christie, he's SO happy to be back on Top of the Pops - even though both he and the show have changed a lot. Both have shrunk.

I rather like Leo you know. His voice is a bit weak but he seems like quite a nice guy. I did see a doc' with him going around trying to sell a girl-duo which was a bit cringe-worthy, other than that he seems OK.
What's your reasoning JK?
