PhilE The announcement is slightly premature

They have now said he is critical
dixie So so sad. A local Coventry man.
It was good that he was broadcasting right up until towards the end.
Pru A voice like honey on toast, he was a warm and engaging broadcaster who used his knowledge of the past to inform the present, unlike John Peel, who, for all his own special gifts, always seemed to me to be trying to live in a perpetual present. When Brian spoke it was with the authentic but easygoing authority of a man who'd heard it and seen it and lived through it all before, but was still fascinated at what new nuances were being added. A real gentleman, and a great pro, RIP Brian.
